Im still here... tired... nausea...anxious. But Im still here.
The next word is up at OLW. Such a great word! Come play with us! This is my layout. Had to use some Sassafras for this... :)
Some Sass... some lace... some splattered glimmer mist... some stitching. The end. I love how it turned out. The colors make me so happy!
Not a whole lot to update... just waiting... trying to eat... even though the thought of food... especially...m.e.a.t makes me gag... last nite I had baked potato w/sourcream and chives and corn on the cob... I could even think about eating anything else. I still haven't "gotten sick" but this is enough for me... Im just hit with waves of nausea throughout the day. I got some gingerale... the kind that actually contains ginger... they sell it in the health food section of Kroger. It's really good! Peppermints are really helping me too. I wish I could have a constant peppermint in my mouth all day.
Oh, my Fashionista Challenge went up at the INSPIRE BLOG. A very simple one! Come try it!
Josh is so wonderful. He is cooking... helping clean... being very supportive... and encouraging. So perfect. He's going to be such an incredible daddy!
Well, gotta get back to work. Going to try and stomach my PB&J sandwich for lunch... speaking of... Do you have any recommendations for easy lunches to bring to work? No TV dinner things... so loaded w/sodium... I have had my full of spinach salad... I am thinking about getting some soups... but those can be high in sodium too... So...other than the obvoius "left overs"... what are some suggestions on things I can make for lunch?
Thanks!!!
xo
Aww, it's so cute to hear you talk about being parents :)
ReplyDeletehummus pitas? Fruit salads?
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon!!
hope you are feeling better! love the layout!

ReplyDeleteWhile pregnant with both of my kids I just ate what I could stomach for the first trimester. I never really worried about the sodium. LOL! My blood pressure and things were always very very low. Never had any issues. I usually ate Mac and Cheese, PB&J, Turkey Sandwiches, salad, etc. ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! Trust me, the nausea is worth it, and will pass.

i was nausea 24/7 for 9 months so, i found that usually carbs made me feel better. baked potatoes did WONDERS! i too never worried about the sodium and never had any problems but their are soups that are low sodium. hope your feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteThese were my staples when I was so sick:
ReplyDeletebaked potatoes w/ spinach and cheese
spinach and cheese quesadilla
(I added chicken or black beans when I could stomach them)
plain pasta w/ whatever sounded good that day (cheese, tomatoes, spinach, etc)
yogurt w/ granola
tomato soup w/ grilled cheese
Basically, my doctor told me to eat whatever I could stomach and not worry about it. It got so much better by week 12 or 13...now I eat anything! :) Hang in there - I never got sick either but just felt miserable and nauseous all day long.
Okay. That layout is unbelievably amazing! I can't stop staring at it.
ReplyDeleteHope the nausea starts going away, SO not fun.
I could never eat much for lunch when I was preggers but I always took lots of cut up veggies especially green and red peppers...mmm.. and salad dressing for dipping them.
ReplyDeleteoh my! I love how it turned out too! :)

ReplyDeletethat is too funny - never in my life have I loved baked potatoes and chives and sour cream until now! they help so much! I'm with ya on that. Pasta really helped me...that's a good thing to make a pot of noodles and use for lunches and snacks...some days I was in a sauce mood and some days just butter and parm. cheese. plain old tortillas and cheese quesadillas are good...it's good to try and eat healthy but sometimes it's important to just be able to eat without gagging - the baby will get what it needs from the prenatal. :) At least that is the excuse I'm using for the top ramen I've been eating here and there... ;) PS we heard the heartbeat on the doppler...it is an audio device they hold up to your tummy. You will love it! :D 8 more weeks for me until the big ultrasound and big "reveal" of the gender.
ReplyDeletei have no lunch suggestions...but i do have something to share...when i was prego, i was nauseus and sick for like 6 months! yuck. the only thing that helped me keep things down was preggie pops---here's the site-- http://www.threelollies.com/
ReplyDeletecheck it out...they are organic, flavored lollies that come in ginger/peppermint/citrus flavor (basically all the flavors that are supposed to relieve nausea.
hope that helps!!
I know you have gotten a ton of adivice about the nasuea but I am going to offer another. Watermelon flavor Jolly Ranchers. I do not know why they help, but they saved me for 6 months straight.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I was sick as a dog and the only things I really cared to eat was egg salad and mashed potatoes.
ReplyDeleteI was threw up every day of my pregnancy with the twins. i had to take a perscribed med for it, it was that bad.
ReplyDelete*Pita and Hummus
*Tortilla Roll ups with what ever you want in them that day.
*ceasar salad
*fresh soup from Kroger deli or Pulix
*pasta salad (I love pasta, brocoli, little mayo, carrots, and a little seasame oil in it)
* fruit, cheese and crackers
* veggie sub
*fruit and cottage cheese
I hope your nausea ends soon!
HI Amber and congrats on your first baby! I read your blog everyday but don't comment much. BUT...I have my favorite and easy lunch for you to try...
ReplyDeletechop one apple (I like the gala apples)
chop some walnuts
add a handfull of raisins
Mix together with french vanilla yogart!!
Yummy!! I use a lot of nuts and raisins just because I like them. I eat this just about everyday! It's kind of like a waldorf (sp?) salad but you are using the yogart instead! Enjoy!!

Congrats to you and Josh!! It is such an amazing time and it will go quickly. I know that it does not seem that way while you are trying to keep food down, but it will. I am not for sure if you started journaling or not. There are several really good baby journals out there. I started one every time I got pregnant, except for with Madison. I was so worried (after 4 miscarriages) that I would have another, so I was not even about to go down that road. I will be journaling with this baby. Each preg is so different it will be cool to look back with your next.
ReplyDeleteOur due date is 3/17. We are so excited. Madison and the new baby will be 22 mths apart. It is going to be so much fun. It appears that you are getting enough advise, plus it will all go out the window when the little one gets here. You just have to learn and do things that fit your life.
It will be neat to watch each other "grow" through this process. I will be watching, good luck and God bless you all. xoxo

campbells makes homemade chicken noodle soup that has 45% less sodium...which is still a lot but its good with buttered crackers. and even though there is meat in there, its small so maybe you could handle it.
ReplyDeleteHey girly :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to ride out really bad sickness, so I'm not a huge help on the food thing...the main thing I've noticed with me is it helps if the food is cold.
Things like
*Jell-o
*Cold pasta salad
*lots of fruit
*Sliced cheese
I'm sorry you're starting to get hit with some sickness, it's no fun :(

Try taking your prenatal pill at night before bedtime. I always found that it was the pill in the a.m. that was making me feel horrible. ~ Amy
