Big Picture Scrapbooking: Don't Blink Class

So Josephine is a lil over 15 months old now.
Where in the WORLD did those 15 months go?

I feel like we blinked & BAM... she's talking... on the way to walking...almost weaned herself...eating all kinds of big people food...giving us kisses voluntarily...
CRAZY!
I have done an OK job scrapbooking her first...
I'll admit though... I am WAY behind.

This brings me to tell you about this awesome class that is being taught by my super sweet & wonderful Mommy friend, Jessica Turner.

Here's the class description:
Finding time to scrapbook amidst milestones and diaper changes can be a challenge, but it is possible! In the self-paced class Don't Blink: Scrapbooking Your Baby's First Year, you will receive tips, tricks and inspiration to complete your baby's first year album - while he or she is still a baby. And don't despair, if your baby is walking and talking, Don't Blink will still inspire you to complete his album before he graduates high school.

As a new mommy who works full-time, writes The Mom Creative blog and loves to scrapbook, Jessica Turner's life is a constant juggling act. After not finding any baby scrapbooking resources she loved and with a commitment to completing her son's first year album while he was still a baby, she developed Don't Blink: Scrapbooking Your Baby's First Year.
After taking Don't Blink, you will be inspired to create dozens of layouts for your baby's scrapbook. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the amount of pictures you have taken and the layouts you could make, you will have the tools needed to create a scrapbook that will be cherished for generations by your child. AND, you will be able to get it done during naptimes, at night and whenever else you can squeeze in fifteen to thirty minutes to scrapbook!

To enter the giveaway, I'd like you to just leave a comment & tell me something you cherished about the first year w/your lil one. Even if that first year isn't over yet. Heck even if it's only been a few weeks that you've had w/your lil bundle!
I'll share a lil something of my favorite thing from our first year with Josephine.
I know I've blogged a million time about my love of nursing.
That is really my most favorite thing about her first year.
We are still nursing as well. 3x a day now.
Morning, After Lunch, Night time.
There is something so amazing about providing the nutrients your lil one needs from your own body. So perfect. So natural. I cherish my nursing time w/her. There are starting to decrease in length & frequency which is making me sad. It's bittersweet. I know she is growing & is enjoying big people food & playing so much right now so she doesn't need or even want to slow down much anymore to sit & cuddle up w/me & have "boobies" but I will miss it dearly.
Heck, we'll just have another one & I'll do it all over again! haha
No, but really, the nursing time is my favorite thing from her first year.
Now, at night when we nurse to sleep, she will sit up from nursing & look me dead in the eyes, smile so sweetly & lean in & kiss me a big kiss, then nuzzle into me & then lay back down & nurse some more. It's be most precious thing she has ever done. I just want to bottle it up.

So tell me what is your most favorite thing or moment from this past year with your little one.

  1. I'm the first? Oh my!

Well, my son is only 4 months old so I still have a way to go before the first year is up, but one of my favourite (new) things so far is hearing him laugh and giggle, usually when we tickle him when he's being changed. His face completely beams with happiness and it's the cutest sound! Definitely a fav (I'm also seriously in love with all his goos and gaas too though!)

  3. Well, I would have to say nursing is still one of my favorite things... but my little guy just turned 10mths old. I love it when he gets to overwhelmingly-happy & gets this huge, lock-jaw, smile! it cracks me up every time.

Oops, speaking of him, he just bumped his head... better go! :(

  4. Love your photos! This past year, I have loved listening to my creative little one make-up songs of her own. She's so smart!

  5. Little Josie is so gorgeous! :) I'm not sure if I ever thanked you for turning us on to BLW but it worked so well with Kieran! He's been weaned for about a month now.

I absolutely cherished the big smiles I got whenever he woke up from a nap and saw me. I still do in fact!

I have to agree with you. Nursing is by far my favorite thing about my son's 1st year. He is my 3rd and last baby so I am cherishing every moment. With 2 other kids it is *our* special time together, not only so he can eat but so we can connect as well. I know that our time nursing together is one of the things I will miss most about having a baby in the house. he's only 6 months so we have a way to go yet, but these past 6 months went by so fast...sigh

  8. One of my favorite things about my son's first year was all of the time I got to spend wearing him.

He was a bit colicky from about 5 weeks until 5 months, and he always seemed the most content when he was being held and we were on the move. We went on so many walks that summer with him in the Becco front pack! I cherished every moment of having him feel safe and secure, snuggled up close as we ventured into the big bad world. Our peanut shell sling was also a savior to have out and about but more so around the house. I don't know how I could've packed up our whole life and moved across the country without it!

  9. My third is just a little over one, but she is my first girl..and I just LOVED, LOVED, LOVED dressing her, making her clothes, finding things that showed off her personality! She has just been the sweetest little addition to our family.

I am a huge fan of nursing! My girls are grown now..well..not quite, 11 and 14 but I nursed both of them for a long time...the last one was 3 years old and it was once a day. They hardly ever get sick and as babies they weren't sick much at all. I do believe it's because of all the nursing. Anyway...I love just hanging with my girls at this age. It's a lot of fun.
