HUGE thank you.... to everyone who left us some love about our exciting news! We are so elated! It's still so hard to believe. So if you could send up TONS of prayers for a healthy first trimester. It's a scary time and lots of things are going through my head so please just pray for peace. It's so incredible.
So, just like every new expectant mom, I want some book/website suggestions. My mom (Annie) picked up "What to Expect when Your Expecting" so I'm really enjoying that. I am going to get a subscription to Fit Pregnancy magazine. Im really enjoying the current issue.
So... any books/website you Mom's would recommend?
I have some layouts to share from the new SIStv Classic Collection! I added the bits of color like the glimmer mist and paint.
This is my sweet friend, Bailey.
This layout makes me so happy. It's photos of Kim and I during the Sisversary Karaoke.
And this is just a lil hanging thing I made w/the grungeboard.
Well, I gotta get back to work.
I'll be keeping a online journal of sorts for family that is out of town and such regarding my pregnancy and the process. Belly shots and things to come!
xo
Hey sweets!! YOu know I am SO excited for you!! Let me know if you need anything k.
ReplyDeleteHere is a website that I loved and was very helpful http://www.babycenter.com/.
yay so excited...we're only 5 or 6 weeks apart! :)I love my little alien baby ticker (LOL) (this week it finally doesn't look so creepy!) that is on the side of my blog...go check out www.babystrology.com for your own ticker. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats again Amber! I have two little guys! Ethan {3 almost 4) and Owen {age 2}. Here is a good website http://www.babycenter.com/ you can put in your due date and read about the progress of the baby. Also read Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy and A Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy {you will laugh you butt off}. Also the BEST baby shoes in the whole wide world are Robeez. Go to www.robeez.com . they might be a little $$$ but the shoes never ever come off. You will find with little baby shoes and socks you spend most of your day putting them back on those little feet. And robeez has such cute styles!
ReplyDeleteCongrats again! Any pregnancy questions? Let me know - I have been through it all!
Wow. you're amazing Amber! Your work is so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy pregnancy magazines! I'd suggest a few to you, but they're all in French! ha.
Say hello to baby - soon bump! :)
The Baby Whisperer by Tracy Hogg was a life saver for us. I've had several friends love it too. It was soo helpful. Also, from the What to Expect series, What To Expect: The First Year, was really helpful.
ReplyDeleteI was gonna recommend babycenter.com but I see 2 people already have! It's a great site! I was on there all the time with my first pregnancy!
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for Babycenter.com and What to Expect While Expecting (the entire series) and I love more than life PARENTS Magazine. Such a great book. Granted it isn't all about pregnancy and so forth but very good for any new parents, current parents or parents to be.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this time. It is so much fun. =)
You and Josh deserve this wonderful happiness. It truly is a blessing. God works in such wonderful ways doesn't he? Here you were trying to deal with things in your life, things with your birth mom and trying to heal from all that and a gift from God was sent to you at just the right time. Amazing, truly amazing.

I am really enjoying "What to expect when you're expecting" and it has actually helped me so far, but the other one from them is "What to eat when you're expecting". I eat horribly, so this is really amazing! I can't believe how my appetite has changed from bad food to lots of fruits and good foods!!!
ReplyDeleteagain, I am so excited for you guys!!
xoxoxo
Just wanted to say congrats.....best wishes for a happy time :o)
ReplyDeleteCongrats again Amber.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was expecting I joined an online antenatal club (babyworld.co.uk, or babycentre)and it was the best thing I did! Honestly, when there are times that you think you should rush to the docs about something, I would ask my girlies in the club first and most of the time, it was just something normal going on in my belly that every other mum2B was going thru too!Ive made some great rends thru my antenatal club. They are a vat ful of knowledge and experience even now when my daughter is 2 years! So in short....join an anteatal club! :) Prayers for you! :)
Congrats again!!!! Super exciting. I would personally recommend that you see what your library has to offer for books, since you will find that a lot of the books just repeat the same information. I liked the Everything Baby book as well as Baby Bargains. The Baby Bargains book is totally coming in handy right now while we are trying to figure out all the stuff that we need for this baby.
ReplyDeleteSorry to be late on this, but CONGRATS!!! I bet you'll be a great mom :)
ReplyDeleteI just posted a baby update today too! :) :) (my due date's March 11th! woohoo!)
ReplyDeleteI definitely suggest the whole What to Expect series, and do sign up on babycenter.com :)
And I know it's not easy, but really do try not to worry too much these first few months...I know I did with Katie and I am a little with this baby, but it will all be ok! :) Start reading to the baby now, and get lots of rest :) :)
First of all congrats!! I pray that your pregnancy is as wonderful as mine were. I loved being pregnant! Anyway...for my first pregnancy I read, What to expect when Pregnant. For my second...I read nothing! lol You can read all the books, magazines, websites...but in the end, you have to go with your gut. People will give you all kinds of "advice."...but in the end, you will go with your gut. There's so much information out there and I know for me..that only confused me more. lol
ReplyDeleteYou'll know what to do. God designed us that way. Hang in there...you'll be fine.
again, congratulations! one book suggestion that i have is called, "on becoming baby wise"- many, many of my friends have used it and say they could not live without it. check it out here: http://www.amazon.com/Becoming-Baby-Wise-Reference-Worldwide/dp/0971453209
ReplyDelete(it is for when the baby is here...and how to get them on a schedule)
:)
Pregnancy Week by Week - great book. Definitely sign up for the weekly emails at BabyCenter.com. When it comes time to buy things - check out the Baby Bargains book for company ratings....CONGRATULATIONS! :P It's a very exciting time. Try to enjoy it all and stay relaxed....best wishes.
ReplyDeletehey girl -
ReplyDeleteI already told you to sign up for babycenter.com, so you should be good there. You can borrow my baby center book and the girlfriend's guide. :) Also, definitely get baby bargains. It helped us A TON while registering. I would let you borrow mine, but another friend has it.
So excited for you guys!
Congratulations on your pregnancy... you are truly blessed!
ReplyDeletei loved "The girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy" and Jenny McCarthy's "Belly Laughs" while pregnant in addition to What to Expect and Your Pregnancy Week by Week. It was nice to read something lighthearted and fun in the midst of all of the serious stuff too.
i also read babycenter.com religiously.
Congrats again!
CONGRATULATIONS you two!!! Hopefully we'll go through this together, although our expectancy has been over two years, it would be cool to become parents at the same time!! Hoping and praying all goes well!

<3 B
Just saw your news!!!!!!! How fab!!! CONGRATULATIONS.....totally thrilled for you both!!!!!! sendign some kiwi love your way!!! Rxxx
ReplyDeleteBuy the Week By Week Pregnancy book (not sure the author my BF is borrowing it!) It's so much more practical than the What to Expect when you are expecting. I stopped reading that when I came across the question asking: I used crack during the first two months I was pregnant... will my baby be ok? I thought that was crazy. The week by week is much better. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHi girl,

Congrats! I am due in 6 weeks with my little guy, Eli and can't wait! We received a countdown calendar from some of our friends - we read it every night before we go to bed. It has been so fun! It is:
ReplyDeleteCountdown to My Birth by Julie B. Carr
Enjoy and good luck!
