18 weeks...LUXE RAK...BabyNames

Good Morning!

Great weekend spent with family... like usual. I love that. We went to go see my Dad play on Saturday night. Date night! Got a lil dressed up and listened to some fun live music! My dad and Angie are Oliver-Kelly. We did a Publicity shoot for them earlier this year. Alot of the photos are in their gallery and the one on the homepage is one that we did. Lots of fun!

18 weeks belly shot...It's finally getting out there!

18weekstext

Now... Josh and I have several names picked out already since we find out the gender on Friday...but...I want to do a NICE LUXE RAK... and I'd like to hear from you guys on baby names!

So...from now til Thursday... I want you to leave me...

A GIRL NAME AND A BOY NAME.

Now... so you know what we like... we want something...

1. Unique

2. Has some vintage charm

3. Is NOT traditional

So leave me a comment w/ a boy and girl name that fits that description and we will pick our favorite name on Friday and post it along w/the gender and the baby name we pick...

Now... **disclaimer...I am not saying we will name our baby the name we pick for the RAK...we have some names that we came up with... but we want to get some more suggestions and figure this is a fun way to do it...but if we like the winning name better than the ones we have picked out... we just might use it!**

So there you go! I just got a HUGE box of LUXE and some other fun goodies that Im dying to share so... go find some unique, charming names! You have til Thursday night!

So my appetite is growing tremendously... But, if I eat a big lunch, I usually don't eat at much at dinner but am waking up at 2am with my stomach just rumbling! Josh made a great suggestion... I should get up when Im hungry... grab some crackers or toast w/Peanut butter and go into the nursery and lay on our vintage fainting couch we have in there for when we lay down with the baby. Great suggestion hubby!

Lil Bit's nursery is finally cleaned out! It had tons of things in it of Josh's grandmother's and my MIL came over this weekend and got it all cleaned out! So we have the furniture in there... Going to pick up the crib from Annie(step mom) this week... We have a dresser that Josh is going to repaint white and we have a lower dresser that we are going to retouch w/the white paint and add some 1x2's to the section that will have the changing pad on it and we've got our changing table! And then we have this great vintage fainting couch from Josh's grandmother's farm house in Missouri and we will put a lil end table next to it. It will be so great for when we are going to just rest with the baby and be away from the dogs and still be able to lay down.

Im so excited to get the nursery together... We will probably start in the next couple weeks and start w/the paiting!

Well, leave us some baby names and I'll pick our favorite on Thursday night and post it Friday along w/the gender of LIL BIT!

xo

  1. Oh...I am DYING for that RAK so I will do something I hardly ever do....suggest baby names! LOL! It's so personal and no one ever really takes my advice (so don't worry...I won't be traumatized if you don't name lil bit one of my names). Although I do want to win the prize badly.
Girl: Evangline (yes...it's my baby's name, but we chose it because it is known, but unusual, vintage and feminine). And you can call her Eva, Lena or the kind of disgusting "Vangie".
Boy: Sebastian (I have always loved that name, but DH won't go for it. Similarly, it is kind of unique, but still not totally out there. Vintage sounding but also modern. And the band Belle & Sebastian is pretty amazing so that doesn't hurt.)

  2. Girl: Mande (like Mandy, just cooler)
Boy: Stephen (I like the spelling)

    ReplyDelete
  3. Scarlet for a girl
    Hays for a boy
Good luck on both of you liking the same name, LOL!

  4. I love the name Caomhie for a girl (pronounced ku-eve-a) It's an Irish name and means pure, my cousin called her new baby this and I love it!!
For a boy......mmm..... not good with unusual boys names but lately I'm liking the name Edward probably because I'm reading the twilight books LOL
Glad you're keeping well and the nursery is all done for you!

Just remember when choosing your baby's name to put Grandma or Grandpa in front of it first. The idea here is to picture them as a grown up professional with their given name. So many names are cute when they are little but not so cute when they grow up.
Have fun picking your baby's name.

I'm secretly hoping it'll be a boy... ;) In that case I like Harper for a boy...and if it's a girl Evangeline which means 'bearer of good news'

Good luck, enjoy the pregnancy, and remember the only maternity clothing you really need is a good comfy mat bra. I never used maternity clothing when I was pregnant, just found what I liked that fitted or could be modified from regular clothing ranges (much cheaper too generally!).

We don't have kids so all I ever got to name was pets, but what I like to do when I have to pick a pets name is to look trough a mythology book. the cool thing is that all these godesses and heroes have stories behond them, so if you want your kid to be smart you call it Pallas Athena, if you want it to like playing with lightning Zeus, If you want it to work with metal and fire Hephaistos, etc ;-)
and if it's a girl and you like alliteration you could pick Ulrike ;-)

  160. It is so exciting looking for names! My husband came up with our daughter's name, Creedence. It means pretty much 'to believe'. If our daughter had actually been a boy then we were going to use the name Tiege. I think it is Irish but what it means I'm not sure. I'll have to go look that up. I also kinda like the name August for a boy. Everyone laughs at me though. I just think it sounds so warm. Can't wait to find out what you are actually going to name the wee one!
